Love Is.................

Charity suffereth long, and is kind;
Charity envieth not;
Charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
Doth not behave itself unseemly,
Seeketh not her own , is not easily provoked,
Thinketh no evil;
Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but
Rejoiceth in truth;
Beareth all things,
Believeth in all things,
Hopeth all things,
Endureth all things.
Charity never faileth

About Love..........

3/18/2001
From the above we can see that love is not a feeling, but requires action. I like the first line "Love suffereth long- and is kind."  Anybody can suffer, it takes something more to be kind while you do it.
However, love is not a victim, because it rejoices in truth.  Speaking truth in love sometimes is the hardest thing to do. Being truthful with those we love is the most loving thing we can do for them.  The truth can sometimes keep a loved one or a Christian brother or sister from the ditch and all that goes along with it. It is definitely more loving to speak appropriately than it is to allow someone to continue on a self-destructive course.  There is just something about the truth that speaks for itself.  Though it may not be initially received well, truth stands on its own and is often an echoing phrase planted in someone's heart that grows into a desire to change and the starting point for it.  The gold referred to in that old saying, "Silence is golden" is only a cheap imitation of the gold in truth spoken in love at the appropriate time.  Deborah
